Giving Earth

Bringing the community together through sustainability & environmental awareness.

When you purchase locally produced & handmade, you help support your very own community.  Supporting Mom & Pop businesses puts money back in the community, where it belongs.  It doesn’t end up in the hands of big corporations!  Purchase food that is local, free of pesticides, gmo’s, artificial colors & flavors and refrains from the use of any synthetic hormones or antibiotics.  Make sure your produce is organically grown and preferably heirloom.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE...

For every $100 spent at a locally owned business, $45 goes back into our community-and our tax base. For every $100 spent at a chain store, only $14 comes back! Local businesses are owned by people who live here, work here and are more invested in our future. Be the solution, support local!

The Thompson family rent their land and home, but make the most use out of it.  It was rented by Kandice’s parents in the past, so it has been her long time childhood home that she has returned to.  Their garden boasts a large amount of heirloom fruits and vegetables that the family will can, dehydrate and freeze.  Some of their produce makes it to the local farm markets in Ashland.

In early 2010 Kandice began a small cottage farm industry out of her home.  It’s now called the Giving Earth Kitchen but it started out as ‘From Scratch ~ Old World Baked Goods’. The Giving Earth Kitchen offers stone baked artisan breads, cookies, biscuits, muffins, old world fudge and other treats.  All items are made entirely from scratch with the highest quality ingredients available (mostly local & organic)!  You can purchase our baked goods at our shop downtown or order online!

In 2006 Kandice was honored with becoming an internationally and nationally nominated freelance photographer.  Her photography is inspired by the raw beauty of nature and all the earths creations.  View the Gallery for her Freelance Images.  Now Kandice offers a small studio at the Giving Earth shop.  Photography By Kandice

The Giving Earth website was established several years ago by Kandice Thompson.  This site was created to bring people together from all walks of life, regardless of political or religious views.

One of the main reasons for the Giving Earth website is to help raise awareness on the importance of supporting local businesses and earth friendly farms, fellow homesteaders and sustainability.
