All of our ingredients are the highest in quality and many are certified organic.  We support our local Co-op and other small businesses and local farms.

From time to time an ingredient may not always be available so we may substitute for another one of equal quality.  The items with more than one choice will reflect this occurrence.

We ONLY use Spectrum Organic Vegetable Shortening for our recipes that contain vegetable shortening. Made with organic palm oil, Spectrum Organic Shortening is non-hydrogenated.  We buy our shortening at the local co-op in Wooster, OH.

We have two favorite butters we use.  Depending on what is available at each time, we sometimes switch back and forth between Hartzler Family Dairy butter and Whole Foods Market 365 Butter.  Each brand of butter contains no pesticides, antibiotics or growth hormones. 

Only two different oils are ever used in our breads and goodies.  Depending on the recipe we either use GMO FREE Expeller Pressed Sunflower Oil and/or the Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil.  Both are 100% Natural, 0g Trans Fat and GMO free.

The finest Certified Organic sugar is used.  Made from certified organic cane juice.  One of the purest forms of sugar.  We buy this locally to help support another friendly farm and country store right here in Ashland, OH.

We either use the Whole Foods Market 365 Baking Soda & Baking Powder or when needed, another brand that is equal in quality but purchased locally.

All the milk & butter we use is always Hormone Free, antibiotic free and comes from happy cows!  No exceptions, ever!  We have decided to use only Hartzler Family Dairy whole and non homogenized milk & butter.  We find theirs is simply the best!

We wanted to provide you with the very best and authentic of chocolates. Never settle for anything less than the purest of ingredients!

Whole Foods Market offers their 365 Sea Salt.  We use it for almost all our breads.  Some items are made special with the Pink Himalayan Salt.

Only the purest of flavors and extracts are used in our baked goods.  They must be either Certified Organic or as good as.  We wont accept anything less!  Usually our flavors and extracts are purchased with Mountain Rose Herbs, but on occasion we buy them at a local country market.

All of our herbs and most of our spices come from Mountain Rose Herbs.  Everything from our basic sesame seeds, cinnamon to sweet basil and oregano and other herbs and spices are all certified organic and some are also fair trade. 

While all ingredients may not be listed, we hope you get the general idea of the high quality that we use!  It doesn’t get much better than this!

The flour we use is one of the highest recommended and best for tasting!  King Arthur’s all purpose flour, artisan flour & Organic Wheat flour are simply perfect!  Milled to the strictest specifications.  Made using the best American wheat.  Never bleached, never bromated.  We buy this locally to help support another friendly farm and country store right here in Ashland, OH.  King Arthur is an Employee Owned Company!!!
